You will want to be aware of certain changes Booking.com are making to non-refundable bookings, namely that they will start charging commissions on all non-refundable bookings, including:
- No-show bookings that we might waive the cancellation fee but haven’t marked on their extranet that cancellation will be £0
- Non-refundable bookings that the card is invalid, we didn’t manage to take payment, but we didn’t mark the card as invalid on the extranet
To avoid paying unnecessary commission charges you must ensure that the Booking.com extranet is updated, preferably each time you become aware of a problem or at latest at the end of the month before they raise the invoice.
If you can’t charge the booking, please go to the extranet to mark as invalid credit cards:
- Go to ‘Reservations’ tab in your extranet.
- Then click the appropriate guest name or reference number, and select ‘Mark credit card as invalid’ on the right-hand side of the page.
- After enter the last four digits of the credit card number, select the reason for marking the card invalid and click ‘Confirm’.
No-show bookings:
- Go to ‘Reservations’ tab in your extranet.
- Then click the appropriate guest name or reference number, and select ‘Mark as a no-show” on the right-hand side of the page.
- Here in this field, you can mark ‘Yes’ if you want to waive the fee for a non-refundable reservation that has resulted in a no-show.
- If you you waive the fee booking.com will inform the guest accordingly.
